Kenneth started the Duplicati project in 2008 because he needed a backup solution for less technically-inclined friends that provided flexibility across operating systems and use cases.
Along the way, the project grew to hundreds of contributors, 10k+ stars on github, 80 million backs up 2023 alone, and used by everyone from individuals looking for a secure way to backup their digital life, to enterprises who need to ensure reliability of their services and resillience against cyber attacks.
In 2024 Kenneth founded Duplicati Inc. to drive the open source project forward, and address the growing needs of its users.
At Duplicati, we are deeply committed being good stewards of the open source project. Our dedication is not just about investing company time and resources in supporting and improving the technology but also about fostering an inclusive, collaborative community. We are proud that tens of thousands of open source users globally trust Duplicati, and we are dedicated to growing that community & maintaining transparency, accessibility. This approach ensures continuous improvement and innovation, thanks to the collective expertise and passion of our contributors. We thank our vibrant community for their ongoing support and contributions, and we remain committed to delivering robust, open-source solutions that meet the evolving needs of users everywhere.
